How we use it
Text, photos, and audio are used to generate AI responses about meals, recipes, and cooking steps. The anonymous user ID is used to protect API access, control usage, and prevent abuse. Structured metrics help us assess response quality and identify issues. Firebase Analytics events and the app-instance identifier are collected only if you consent in the app’s “AI data use” settings. Turn off the switch there to stop collection. Analytics does not receive conversation text, recipe names, photos, audio, or your Firebase Anonymous Authentication ID. We do not use data for advertising or ad tracking. Feedback text is used to respond to your feedback and improve the service.
Services we use
The app uses Google Firebase Authentication, Firebase App Check, Firebase Analytics, Cloud Functions, and the Gemini API. For regular consultations, your text and selected photos are sent to Gemini through Cloud Functions. For the Live assistant, after short-lived connection credentials are issued, audio and attached photos are sent directly to Gemini.
We do not use submitted content for advertising or ad tracking. The Gemini API is used through a billed Google Cloud project, and submitted content is not used to improve Google’s models. Google’s contractual terms and privacy rules apply to Google’s processing.
Storage and retention
Conversation history, cooking sessions, finished-dish logs, and finished-dish photos are stored on your device. We do not automatically save regular AI conversation text, photos, or audio in an operator-managed database. Feedback text and any optional text conversation attachment are automatically deleted 90 days after submission. Firebase Analytics events are collected only with your consent and retained according to Google Analytics data-retention settings. Turning consent off stops new events from being sent; Analytics events do not include conversation text, photos, or audio. We do not store Live audio or photos as feedback records.
Google may retain Gemini API inputs and responses for up to 55 days for safety and abuse monitoring. Session state needed for Live assistant reconnection may be retained by Google for up to 24 hours. Firebase manages the anonymous authentication user ID.
Your choices and deletion
You can delete conversations and finished-dish logs individually in the app. Choose “Delete all device data” from the home screen menu to remove conversation history, cooking sessions, finished-dish logs, and saved photos from your device. Contact us to request deletion of a feedback submission or Firebase anonymous authentication ID.
Analytics consent
Firebase Analytics is disabled by default. To opt in, open “AI data use” in the app’s guide and turn on the analytics switch. Turning it off withdraws consent and stops analytics collection. Core app features work regardless of your choice.
Security and safety
Communication uses encrypted HTTPS, and API access is protected with Firebase Anonymous Authentication and App Check. The app does not ask for your name, address, or email. Please do not include personal or confidential information in consultation text, photos, or audio.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as features or laws change. Important changes will be announced on this page or in the app.
